"I only have one minute left in my brain..."

That is my favorite line from Kid History episode 6. If you haven't watched that on Youtube, you should. I laugh harder each time I watch it. http://boredshorts.tv/2011/08/kid-history-episode-6/
Anyway, that is exactly how I feel right now. We have so much going on right now, I am having a hard time keeping track of whose coming and going. Here are a few highlights since Oct. 24th...
Garrett

  • had his first baseball tournament on his new team- Caesars

  • pitched for the first time ever in a game. It was the last inning and he walked one, struck one out, the other 2 batters popped up for easy outs. No one scored, game over.

  • was inducted into the National Junior Honors Society. The pictures we took were horrible. We were too far away so they turned out dark or blurry.

  • won his semi-finals football game and will play in the championship this Saturday at Hansen Stadium (that is the Dixie State College football stadium)

  • had his name in the school paper for placing 10th out of 130 students district wide at the math counts competition- the highest ranked at his school

  • dressed as a garbage man for Halloween

  • went to a boys and girls birthday party. I am not sure he talked to any of the girls, but had fun with some of his football teammates anyway.

  • earned 4 more merit badges at the court of honor. He is officially just an Eagle project away from being an Eagle Scout.

Grant

  • won his semi-final football game. He, too, will play at Hansen Stadium for the championship this Saturday. His team is undefeated thus far. Go Warriors!

  • earned 2 merit badges in scouts.

  • learned how to do a front hand spring in gymnastics. If you are standing near him,WATCH OUT. He is always doing hand stands or round offs trying to get his shoulders stronger so he can master front and back handsprings.

  • dressed as the king of hearts for Halloween

  • had straight A's his first quarter

Gracie

  • is learning so much in gymnastics. She is so flexible and has no fear. It is fun to see her new tricks each week.

  • loves going to activity days. This weekend she and Russ have a Daddy/Daughter dinner. She is so excited to have Russ' undivided attention.

  • has learned to write in cursive. We find notes all over the house in her new writing style.

  • dressed as the queen of hearts for Halloween. She then proceeded to eat all of her candy within a week. Can you say Diabetes? We had to have a long talk with her, and now know to monitor her sugar intake.

  • sings her Sunset Express songs all day long. Starting this next week, she will begin having all of her holiday performances. She will perform at the Jubilee of Trees and the Dicken's Festival (and a bunch of others, but those two are my favorites)

Thanks for the cute update. It's so great to watch the kids get older and excel at so many things. You really have a bunch of high-achievers (I wonder where they get that from??) We are excited about the boys' championship games this weekend and we're also anxiously awaiting Gracie's performance at the Jubilee of Trees. Honestly, Dad and I wouldn't have a life if it wasn't for our grandchildren...so thanks to ALL of them. We love you.

I swear your kids have grown up so much just since I have started reading your blog ! They are darling, so smart and such good hearted kids. You have much to be proud of

I find the trick is not to sign your kids up for anything and encourage sedentary activities, then you always know where they are (on the couch watching MTV) or sitting at the bar eating... That is what I do.

That was fun to catch up with all your kids and their comings and goings. You guys are SUPER busy! But it looks like they are all doing so well and enjoying every minute of it!
