Spooktacular Day

Happy Halloween

On Friday, Grant and Gracie had their Halloween parade at school. Friday is my "day off" from work (which is never really a day off- because I have more to do on this day than any other!!!). But, I was able to go and take pictures and help with the Halloween parties in the kids classes. Gracie was so excited. She just giggled all morning. We styled her hair and put pixie dust (glitter) in it to go with her pixie costume.
Grant was a prisoner (He looked more like a garbage man, or "Armpit" from the movie Holes). He was not happy with me for giving him a mustache and goatee. I wanted to paint tatoos on him as well (tear drops, mom in a heart, etc.), but he would have nothing to do with that! Honestly, my kids need to try and have a little more fun. They are way too serious. Anyway, he washed his face the second the parade was over. Oh well, I tried. Garrett was a chef. He waffled back and forth about whether or not he was too old to dress up and go Trick or Treating. He finally decided to go. This may be his last year. It is sad. I want my kids to stay this age forever... I just love the stages they are in. Anyway, we had a great pre-Trick or Treating dinner at Nana and Papa's. Then we trick-or-treated in their neighborhood with the Ellsworths. It was a good time.

You must have finished writing the Primary program because you were able to blog about Halloween the very next day. I guess I should have asked, but I thought Grant was a construction worker and good for him for rejecting the tattoos, etc.!! All the kids looked so cute and Dad and I have loved sweeping up the pixie dust from the floors, some of it will probably remain until Christmas when there will be more added to it, but I really do love seeing it. It is a little sad that this might be Garrett's last year of trick-or-treating but there will be other exciting things that follow. I used to think, "I love this stage, I want my girls to stay this age forever," then the next stage would come and I would say that same thing again...and so it goes...new and exciting things come with each age and you will love it ALL, I know. I'm proud to be the mother of such a wonderful mother.

Kori...what joy filled my heart when I gambled and looked at your blog and there was a new post. I am so excited. The kids looked darling. Tell Garrett that his big cousin Brayden (who dressed up as a "beaner" this year) had a great time tick or treating with his homies. He would say things like "Trick or Treat Homes" of "Give me some candy esssssaaaaYYYY". And HE did have tats all over him. Gar has a couple more years so don't give up yet. Glad you had a fun day.

Great costumes. And fun that the kids got to wear them to school. That is just not allowed here anymore. Kinda sad and kinda nice, way less stress.

Trick or treating with the family sounds like fun, and as for Garrett, I remember trick or treating with you and we were in High School for sure, cause I remember going after getting off work. Maybe that is kinda sad...hmm, I'm sure we made people mad... man what were we thinking?
