End of Season Blues
Life in our home is slowing considerably. Today was Gracie's last soccer game. She has had so much fun playing. Today they played the Leapin' Lizards, who were undefeated coming into today's game. Gracie's team beat them 5-4 and Gracie scored her first goal of the season in today's game. She was very excited! She had a good season and continued to get better each game. She loves playing defense.
The "official" baseball season ended two weeks ago. Garrett's team did fantastic and ended their season 14-2. Garrett had a really good season. He hit well. He fielded well. He pitched well. He worked hard. He improved. Now that season is over, some of the boys get together everyday after school to hit and field. Today, the varsity boys baseball team won state. We are grateful Garrett is part of a great baseball organization.
Grant's lacrosse season ended last Saturday. It was a growing season for his team. Out of 15 boys, only 5 of them had ever played before... and of those 5 only 2 had played more that one season. This was Grant's first season and he LOVED it. Grant did well. He played great defense. He was aggressive. He was positive. His team will continue to scrimmage during the summer and hopefully they will be ready for next season. He is already counting down the days.
We are not sure what we are going to do with all of our free time!

two words (at least for you)...
GIRL CAMP!!! :) p.s. I can give you a hard time about it because I just got called to be the Girls Camp Director myself. Today. Girls Camp-One.Month.Away.Panic.Now. Yes, I'll probably be calling you. Fair Warning :)
Boo!! I hate when good things come to an end. But, the great news is.... it will start up again before you know it and they will be bigger and stronger and better next season. Holy cow, I cannot believe the hard work and determination and dedication that has gone into these little sports careers. You all should be very proud of yourselves
I must admit that I'm going through a little withdrawal and I don't like it much. I love all the Hyde's sports activities...Dad and I wouldn't have much of a life without them. We can't wait for the next season to begin. All 3 of the kids did so well this year. We are sure proud of them and so happy to be their grandparents.
Knowing you...you feel so sad that all this craziness has come to an end. You are just that good of a mom. I on the other hand am thrilled it is summer and the kids don't have anywhere to be at any set time. This is because I am NOT a good mom. :)
I am glad everyone had a successful year in the sports arena. More of that to come...SOON I am sure.
I hope you guys have been able to keep yourselves busy this summer and not get bored. It looks like everyone ended their sports year well and before long it will be starting again! I wish Conner was able to play a sport. Sadly, the doctor said no sports until at least January if all heals as it should. As for Brilynn, we're working on her getting involved in something!
I wanted to thank you for your nice comments on my blog. I sure appreciate all the support you and your family give our family!
Love,
JoLynn
